Is Toomey & Co. Auctioneers related to Treadway Toomey Auctions?

After 30 years of successful auctions, the founders of Treadway Toomey Auctions, John Toomey and Don Treadway, ended their partnership and began new chapters in their businesses. Toomey & Co. Auctioneers debuted at the beginning of 2018 with John Toomey remaining President, while turning over the company’s management to CEO Lucy Toomey. Toomey & Co. Auctioneers will continue to provide the service and expertise our clients are accustomed to, and auctions will continue to be conducted at the same Oak Park location where they’ve been held for the past 30 years.

Can I buy anything now without waiting for an auction?

Toomey+ is our online marketplace where you can purchase works privately outside of the auction environment. Please note all items scheduled to sell at auction will be offered at auction, unless otherwise withdrawn by the consignor.

If I can’t attend a live auction, are there other ways to bid?

If you are not able to attend an auction in person, we offer many alternative ways to bid. Other methods of bidding include leaving an absentee bid, phone bidding, or bidding live through a third-party online platform. Please learn more about your bidding options at our Buying at Auction page:

If I am the highest bidder on an item, how do I get it home?

At Toomey & Co. Auctioneers, we pride ourselves on our customer service. As a service to our valued clients, we offer in-house and third-party shipping quotes for domestic auction purchases. If you successfully purchase an item at auction, we will include a shipping quote on your invoice. (You are also welcome to make your own shipping arrangements should you have a preferred shipper.)

Once payment clears and your purchase ships, we will send an email with any available tracking information. We can also provide a list of available shippers for our international clients. For pre-auction shipping quotes to help plan your bidding, please email our Shipping Department and include lot number(s) and the shipping address.
