Toomey & Co. Auctioneers sells Fine Art of the 19th, 20th, and 21st centuries with a particular emphasis on Modern and Contemporary paintings, prints, drawings, and sculpture. The Fine Art Department sells approximately 150-250 works per auction in a wide range of price points.

Joe Stanfield, a Vice President of Toomey & Co. Auctioneers, is the Senior Specialist in the Fine Art Department and joined the company in 2011. He was raised in Topeka, Kansas and has a degree in Art History from the University of Kansas.
He has helped oversee important collections including the Tribune Tower Collection, the Warshawsky Collection, the Estate of Candice B. Groot, the Collection of Governor Jim Thompson, the Estate of Robert E. Beck, the Estate of Robert E. “Butch” McGuire, the Estate of Frank Ternenyi, and many others.
Joe has been in the auction industry since 2006 and is an active member of the Sustaining Fellows at the Art Institute of Chicago and the Arts Club of Chicago. In addition to his involvement with Toomey & Co. Auctioneers, Joe’s passion for art and culture is fulfilled with frequent art-related travel with his wife and son.
